Restoring Your Database

Restoring a database by any of the methods listed below will cause your current data to be overwritten with the data which was current at the time the backup was taken. As a consequence, you will lose any data which has been entered since the backup was taken. This action is for advanced users or IT professionals only. We recommend that you consult your IT department or the HR3 support team before performing this action.

Restoring a database can be necessary for many reasons, for example a corrupted database or a crashed hard drive.payroll provides several ways to restore your database to previous versions when necessary.

Restoring the database is a single user function and so all users must be logged out of the system. The Who's On function can be used to check this. To check if anyone else is logged into the system go to Navigator | Security | User Maintenance | Who's On. This will then show you a list of any other users logged in at that time.
