Postcodes

Postcodes are used to uniquely identify postal areas in a country. payrollnow offers you the facility to maintain the list of all known postcodes by downloading a file from the website, thereby ensuring that you always have the most recent list of postcodes available. You can also enter a new postcode manually.

Updating the Postcodes Data Tables:

  1. Go to Navigator | Maintain Company Details | Country Definitions.
  2. Click on the required Country node.
  3. Click on the Postcodes node.
    The Postcodes screen will open.
  4. Click on the Download button .
    The Postcodes Transfer Wizard will open.
  5. Follow the instructions on the wizard to download the most recent Postcodes data.

Searching for a Postcode:

You can enter a postcode to search for the suburb to which it refers or enter a suburb to search for its postcode.

  1. Go to Navigator | Maintain Company Details | Country Definitions.
  2. Click on the required Country node.
  3. Click on the Postcodes node.
    The Postcodes screen will open.
  4. Enter the information that you have available in either the Country, Postcode or Suburb fields or in more than one field if you have more information.
  5. Click on the Search button.
    Select the entry you require from the list that is returned.

Adding a New Postcode Manually:

  1. Go to Navigator | Maintain Company Details | Country Definitions.
  2. Click on the required Country node.
  3. Click on the Postcodes node.
  4. Click on the Add New button.
    The Postcodes screen will open.
  5. Complete the following information:

Field Explanation
Postcode Enter the Postcode.
Suburb The suburb the postcode refers to.
State The state in which the postcode is located.
Country The country in which the postcode is located.
  1. When you have entered all the required information, click OK.
