Tasks

This section is used to view any outstanding tasks for this employee, or raise a new task if required. If you have kiosk and hr installed the task information will be included in the employee's planner.

Employee tasks can also be accessed from the Tasks section of the Employee file. Click auto preview to preview the task in the main window.

To view or amend tasks:

  1. Select the Tasks node for the employee.
    The Tasks screen will open, showing the details of any existing tasks.
  2. To create a new task click Add New.+-
    The Tasks screen will appear.
  3. Complete the following fields as required:
Field Explanation
Subject Enter a subject for this task. This will appear on a task report or on the reminder window.
Due Date Enter the date the task is due, or click ... to select it from a pop-up calendar. This date can be used to filter the employee tasks report .
Priority Select the priority of this task. An icon will be displayed in the list of tasks for that employee, such as for high or for low.
Reminder If you wish to be reminded about this task at a future date, enter a date and time for the reminder. At the specified date and time, a reminder window will appear on your desktop. If payroll is not running at the specified time, the reminder will show the next time the program is run.
Notes Enter any additional notes relating to the task.
Attachments You can drag and drop items such as reports or an employee file into this area for ease of access. To do this:
  1. With the task open on screen, open the report explorer.
  2. Position both screens so that you can see the attachment area and the require report.
  3. Click on the report, and without releasing the mouse, drag the report over to the attachment area. You should see a small white page attached to your mouse pointer.
  4. Release the mouse over the attachment area to create a shortcut to the report.
  5. Double click the report shortcut at any time to run it.
Category You can categorise tasks to help identify them in reports. Select a category from the drop-down list. To create a new category select <<Add New>> from the list.
Click the Task Complete Button once the task has been done.
To assign the task to another employee:
  1. Click the Assign to button to assign the task to an employee on your Contacts.
    A message will appear telling you that the task has not yet been assigned and that it can only be assigned to someone in your Contacts.
  2. Click TO:
    The Contacts Search screen will open.
  3. You can either select the employee required or perform a search to find and then select them.
    A message will appear saying that the task has now been assigned.
Click the Owner button to go to the owner of the task.
